Christmas Log Cake

So my last fondant cake for the year 2010 was a fondant covered Christmas log cake. This was done for the lady who kept me busy with a five cake order . She will be travelling to Malaysia this weekend and wanted to bring a christmas cake back for her relatives. But since normal cream based cakes will not last the journey, and christmas fruit cakes are either loved or hated (there's no sitting on the fence when it comes to fruit cakes) by people, we decided to play it safe by doing a vanilla cake with chocolate filling and covered in fondant to make it look like a log.

Christmas Cupcakes

So continuing with christmas goodies for a friend, we made cupcakes and macarons for their colleagues. Unfortunately, in my haste to get things done, i entirely forgot to take pictures of the macaron packages!!!! Duh... But the macarons were done in green and red shells with mint filling and chocolate shells with valhorna 55% chocolate ganache. on top of that we made cupcakes in chocolate with salted caramel centers and chocolate mint flavors for their co workers.

Christmas Cookies

So a friend roped me to help her make little christmas favors for her colleagues at work. This is part one, more to come in the next few days...

21st Birthday Basketball Cake Cupcake Tower

Third cake for the weekend was a basketball cupcake tower. A very sweet sister dropped me a mail a month ago and asked if i could make her brother (who was turning 21 btw) a special basketball themed cake.

1st Birthday Rubber Ducky Cake

Yer the one...... You make my bath time lots of fun!!!! Rubber duckie i'm awfully fond of you you you!!! du du doop du pi du.....

Sorry, but in the midst of making these rubber ducks i had to stop and youtube ernie's rubber duckie song. and now its stuck in my head. : /

anyways, i so love makin cutesy cakes! and this was one that i had a ball makin!

Abby Cadabby 3 tier Cake

Sorry for the short hiatus again. Was a pretty crazy week for me. Had three sizeable orders on saturday alone, plus had to juggle between planning for our amsterdam/london/paris trip plus preparing for 2 christmas dinners. anyways, it was a totally sesame street weekend with 2 out of 3 orders being SS characters and both for one year old lil girls! what are the odds?

Fairy on a Swing Cake

So yesterday i delivered a cake to fairy princess Aiko, sister of the kamen masked rider cake, who's a big fan of this australian kiddee series called The Fairies. Aiko was extremely sure of the "wants" and "don't wants" on her cake, and she even got her mommy to list them out for me. Too cute! : )

Final Fantasy 2 tier Cake

This cake was a Final Fantasy themed cake. Those familiar with the japanese anime would surely know of the character Cloud Strife. I had a mild heart attack when the request came for me to replicate Cloud, cos jap anime characters are known to be very DETAILED and INTRICATE. I tried as best to recreate Cloud in sugar form, and i hope i managed to do so : )

Basketball Graffiti Cake

So, 3rd cake for the day (yeah.... 3 cakes in a day.... phew.... i'm D.R.A.I.N.E.D.), is for my fav cake order-er's son, Chris. This was a simplified version of her initial idea of a fancy basketball court cake with figures dancing and music blaring through a fondant radio. The idea was scraped cos i couldn't think of what device to hook the "radio" up to. An iPod? A cassette tape? Anyways, she sent me a picture she found off the net, and so i went ahead with it. and the result was a variation of the 3D basketball cake.

Crazy Hair Themed Cake

Cake 2 for the day is a crazy hair themed cake. Its for the mommy of the ferris wheel cake, Doraemon cupakes, and Doraemon Cake. This time its for herself, and 2 other December babies. I spent a while trying to think of how to go about this cake, and finally my designer husband gave me the idea of Lady Gaga and a few wacky hairstyles. And this was how it looked like.

Airplane / Aeroplane Cupcakes

"Lookin out the window.... watching the clouds go by......" Sorry, just that as i was makin the aeroplanes for this particular order, that Barney song just kept ringin in my head. : / Anyhoos, this was a result of a referral by my Primary 1 and 2 classmate, she's an uber talented le cordon bleu pastry grad. Thanks S! Please make me pretty pretty french pastries soon! : )
