Cherry Blossoms Cake

TO ALL CHINESE PEEPS:

HAPPY HAPPY YEAR OF THE BUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!! G'BYE TIGER! HELLO WABBIT!!!!!!!

In the midst of all the feasting, i managed to squeeze in some time for a cherry blossoms themed cake. The cake was ordered by a friend's colleague, who was celebrating her mom's birthday which fell on the second day of the lunar new year. So i wanted to incorporate the chinese festive feel, by using an auspicious colour, red, and used sakura flowers as the main theme.

To further add on to the "auspicious-ness" of this cake, i dusted the petals of the cherry blossoms and lettering with gold luster dust and sprinkled the entire cake gold disco dust.

the husband thought this one of the prettiest i have ever done : )

cake was a 7inch vanilla cake with strawberry filling.

  3. Of cos :) That goes without saying! She didn't expect to see the tailored made kind, thinking we must have just grab from any cake shop. Moreover the colors and flowers are all her favorite. Thank you once again Chef V!
