S dropped us a mail some weeks back and told us she was having a rock themed party as a play on the words "30 STILL rocks!", NOT the sitcom 30 Rock. She came up with the design and color scheme of her cake and even created a powerpoint doc depicting what her "dream" cake should look like. i hope i managed to translate it into cake as close as possible!
S was very hands on with the design of this cake, from the patterns, colors even right down to the placement, i was really just the executor of this cake, not the brains behind the design! : )
S also got us to make cupcakes as a token of appreciation to her friends who helped out in organizing her 30th birthday bash. Cupcakes also designed by birthday girl herself!
Cake was lemon cake with orange filling for top tier, red velvet with chocolate in one layer and oreos in another layer for bottom tier.
Cupcakes were vanilla with passionfruit filling.

ReplyDeleteGreat job on the cake! My friends commented that it is indeed very Rock. Funny how the lilac turn out to be more bluish on the pictures. The pics of the cakes taken by my friends are on the blueish side. Some of my friends have not eaten red velvet cake and they enjoyed it.
