Tweety Bird Cake

Sweet S got us to make this Tweety Bird Themed Cake for her grandma's 80th birthday celebration. She sent us a picture of a cake that she came across off the net and asked if we could modify it a little.

The original design was a clay figurine (non edible) of a child siting in top of a square yellow present. We changed that into a cake itself, placed on top of a cornelli laced cake (which was the original design). Sorry for the lack of credits! We had no clue where this cake was from, but we're guessing its not local!

    1. that looks awesome for a rice krispies figure!!! i know i´m probably asking for too much but how do you keep the surface of the rice krispies smooth for the fondant??? i´ve made figures of rice krispies too, but when i cover them with fondant the surface looks like a rock texture, as the rice is not really a smooth surface, somebody told me to cover them with butter cream but that didn´t work and only made a mess with the fondant and the rice, how do you keep it so smooth??? i know that´s probably a secret part of your process guys so if you don´t want to answer i´ll understand it. but it was a great job anyway, congratulations!!!!

  3. nah…. no worries! i had a lot of trouble with getting a smooth surface at the beginning. i tried covering it with ganache as well, but like u said, it turned out to be a very messy affair. so now what i do is to cover it in layers of fondant and rub it in! i am thinking modeling choc might work as well, could even taste better than fondant!

    good luck there! : )
