This was done the colleague of my old mate. Said birthday girl is an ardent fan of the Harry Potter series, so, of course the cake has to be in that theme!
So, the first thing that popped into our minds was to do a book of spells, together with some other Harry Potter must haves adorning the cake board. We decided on his wand, the golden snitch and the Gryffindor tie. Our edible wafer paper (the stuff you find on the sides of your nougat) came in extremely handy agin for the feathers of the golden snitch! It was the favorite part of the entire ensemble for my husband!
We're really loving how the book of spells turned out, antique and mystical looking, all thanks to our nifty air brush! : )
Cake was vanilla with chocolate mint filling.
